Move a Premium License to a New Site

To move a Polestar Premium license to a new site, deactivate it on the old domain and activate it on the new one. An Ultra Premium or Puro Premium order number is not tied to a site. Enter the same number on the new site. The licensing terms allow you to move a license from one domain to another.

Move a Polestar Premium License

A Polestar Premium license is active for the domains you add to it. A single site license covers one domain. A multi site license covers more. A move to a new host needs no change when the domain stays the same. A move to a new domain, or from a temporary address to the final one, needs the steps below.

Step 1: Release the Old Domain

If the old site still works, use the plugin:

  1. On the old site, go to PluginsPolestar Premium.
  2. Click Deactivate License.

If the old site is gone, use your dashboard:

  1. Log in to your dashboard and click Licenses.
  2. Click Manage Sites on the license.
  3. Click Deactivate Site next to the old domain.

Step 2: Activate the New Domain

  1. On the new site, install Polestar Premium as a plugin. See Installing Polestar Premium.
  2. Go to PluginsPolestar Premium.
  3. Enter the license key in License Key and click Save Changes.
  4. Click Activate License. The page shows Active.

A Copied Site Shows Active but Gets No Updates

A migration plugin or a host copy carries the old license status to the new domain. The plugin page then shows Active, but the license is not active for the new domain. Updates fail with Download failed. Unauthorized or show nothing.

  1. Log in to your dashboard and click Licenses.
  2. Click Manage Sites on the license.
  3. Click Deactivate Site next to the old domain if the activation limit is reached.
  4. Enter the full new site URL in the form and click Add Site.

The form starts with http://. Change it to https:// if the new site uses it. Then go to DashboardUpdates and click Check again.

Move an Ultra Premium or Puro Premium Theme

  1. Install the theme on the new site. Copy the site, or upload the Premium ZIP file. See Update Theme Using ZIP File.
  2. Go to AppearanceCustomizeTheme SettingsUltra Premium. In the Puro theme, the section is Puro Premium.
  3. Check that Order Number holds your number. Enter it if the field is empty, then click Publish.

When the theme asks for updates, it sends the order number, the theme version and a timestamp. It does not send the site address. The old site needs no deactivation.

Change a Single Site License to Multi Site

Click View Upgrades on the license in the Licenses tab. You pay the difference between the two prices. See Managing Your Premium License.
