SwiftGrid lists the variations of every variable product in one grid, so one change can reach the variations of many products at once. Set the product type filter to Variations to see them.
Change Variations Across Many Products
- Open SwiftGrid and set the product type filter to Variations. The grid lists one variation per row. Each row shows its attributes, such as Color: Oat / Size: M, with the parent product’s name under it.
- Narrow the list with the status, category, stock status and tag filters, or search by title or SKU.
- Edit the cells you need: SKU, regular price, sale price, stock quantity, stock status, weight, length, width, height, shipping class, tax class and image.
- Select rows and use the cell calculator on a price cell to change the price of every selected variation at once. See Bulk Editing Prices with the Cell Calculator.
- Select rows and click Assign Image to give the selected variations the same image.
- Click Save Changes.
Check the Result
Edited cells stay highlighted until you save, and the status bar counts the unsaved edits. Click Discard Changes to drop them. After you save, SwiftGrid records the change for 90 days.
Edit the Variations of One Product
With the product type filter on All types or Variable product, click the expand control on a variable product’s row. Its variations open under it, with the same columns.
Generate Missing Variations
In SwiftGrid Pro, the Generate Variations button on a product’s row creates the variations the product does not have yet. Generate Missing Variations does the same across the selected products. SwiftGrid builds the missing combinations from the variation attributes each product already has, using WooCommerce’s own generator.
Compared With WooCommerce
WooCommerce keeps variations on each product’s edit screen, under the Variations tab. The bulk actions there work on one product’s variations at a time, and each product needs its own visit and save, so changing the same variation on 40 products takes 40 edit screens.
Limits
- SwiftGrid does not edit attributes. Change a product’s attributes on its edit screen, then edit or generate its variations in SwiftGrid.
- Variation status and descriptions cannot be edited in the grid.
