Theme Action Hooks

Polestar has action hooks in header.php and footer.php. Use them from a child theme or a Code Snippets plugin snippet to add content without editing theme files. For an introduction, see Using Action Hooks in WordPress Child Themes.

header.php Hooks

polestar_body_top

Runs directly after the opening body tag.

polestar_header_before

Runs directly before the opening header tag (#masthead).

polestar_menu_before

Runs directly before the main menu. It does not run when the Header Menu setting is off.

polestar_menu_after

Runs directly after the main menu. It does not run when the Header Menu setting is off.

polestar_content_before

Runs after the header closes and before the site-content div opens. The blog posts slider prints here on the blog page.

polestar_content_top

Runs inside the site-content div, after the polestar-container div opens. Breadcrumbs print here when a breadcrumb plugin is active.

polestar_footer_before

Runs after the content div closes and before the footer opens.

polestar_footer_top

Runs directly after the footer tag opens, before the footer widgets.

polestar_footer_bottom

Runs below the bottom bar, directly before the footer tag closes.

polestar_footer_after

Runs directly after wp_footer() and before the closing body tag.

Filters

  • polestar_footer_credits: the “Theme by Puro” credit. Return an empty string to remove it.
  • polestar_logo_sticky_scale: the logo scale when Sticky Header Scales Logo is on. See Advanced Customizations.
  • polestar_display_mini_cart: return false to hide the mini cart.
  • polestar_disable_new_widget_area: return false to allow the block-based Widgets screen.
  • polestar_content_width: the content width in pixels. The default is 1140.
