Hi,
Is it possible to replace Meta Slider with Visual Composer content? I would like to add content above my recent posts and using VC is what I’m most comfortable with.

For sure, I just wouldn’t recommend using Page Builder and VC as they do a similar job and can be resource heavy. So, if you go with VC, rather deactivate Page Builder.
The only issue is that Meta Slider is inserted by the theme above the content which means that it goes above the primary content area and above the sidebar. It wouldn’t be easy to get VC above the sidebar so you’d rather need to design the page in Visual Composer.
When you edit each page you can use Page Settings in the right column to remove the top and bottom content margins as required (Header Margin and Footer Margin settings).
