Today, I hit update on the theme (without thinking). I then noticed our logo disappeared from the menu. When I went to add it back in, I realized that this theme only allows for the company title or logo (not both). Please advise as to bringing our menu back to having both our logo AND title.
Thank you!May 7, 2020 at 10:02 am #14352
Thanks for reaching out.
Were you using Ultra prior to updating? If so, do you know how you were displaying the logo and site title previously? It isn’t a theme setting at this time which is why I ask.May 7, 2020 at 11:36 am #14353
Yes, we were using Ultra prior to updating Ultra theme. How can I send you a screenshot here?
Thanks!May 7, 2020 at 12:09 pm #14356
You can upload a screenshot to imgur.com or any cloud site and send a link.
Do you know how the site title and logo were previously added? Did you perhaps use a child theme or a function in Code Snippets plugin? Or did a developer directly edit theme files at a code level?May 7, 2020 at 12:42 pm #14361
I’ve replied twice but the posting won’t update as such…May 7, 2020 at 12:43 pm #14362
Here’s how it looked before: https://imgur.com/EyCKpivMay 7, 2020 at 12:45 pm #14363
Here’s my fix (put the logo in with title text): https://imgur.com/SBLNECK
Clunky! Do you have any other suggestions?
Our website assistant says he did not use a child theme or a function in Code Snippets plugin. He also did NOT directly edit theme files at a code level.
Thanks for your help!May 7, 2020 at 12:50 pm #14358
Here’s how it looked before. I am in touch with our webguy but after talking with him, it doesn’t seem like a child theme or a function in Code Snippets plugin were used nor did he directly edit theme files at a code level.
Seems to me that our best option to have the site and menu look as it did before is for me to upload a new image with the logo and title together (as seen here: https://imgur.com/J6ETEYC).
I appreciate your help!May 7, 2020 at 12:50 pm #14360
Here is a screenshot of the way it looked before: https://imgur.com/EyCKpiv
Here’s my only thought to make it look as it did before. I can upload a new logo file that has the title in text next to it: https://imgur.com/J6ETEYC
I do not know how the site title and logo were previously added. Our website assistant did not recall using a child theme, function Code Snippets plugin and he did not directly edit theme files at a code level.
I appreciate your help!May 7, 2020 at 12:54 pm #14367

There is most likely a missing link here. At Appearance > Themes, do you see a child theme for Ultra? It’ll most likely be named Ultra Child.May 7, 2020 at 1:01 pm #14368
10-4 on the posting replies.
Not sure where there could be a missing link. No child theme’s at Appearance > Themes (https://imgur.com/SBLNECK)May 7, 2020 at 9:31 pm #14375
Thanks for checking.
If the logo and the site were displayed next to each other and then disappeared when you updated the theme, it most likely means that at some point theme files were edited and the site title manually included next to the logo. I’ll need to create a child theme for you to use to introduce the site title next to the logo. I’ll try to get that done tomorrow and send it when it’s ready. Chat then 🙂May 8, 2020 at 12:45 pm #14392
Please, find an update for Ultra here. Once the ZIP file is on your desktop you can install the update as follows:
* Go to Appearance > Themes, switch to any other theme.
* Delete Ultra.
* Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme.
* Once activated to Appearance > Customize > Theme Settings > Header and enable the Display Site Title and Logo setting.May 14, 2020 at 10:45 am #14422
How did the update go?
ThanksMay 14, 2020 at 2:44 pm #14423
Our web guy has been on vacation. I will bring this to him soon and let you know how it goes. I appreciate your help in this!
