Stacey HansenParticipantHi there,
I know I shouldn’t have touched it (!!) but I think I have mucked up a php file when I was trying to reformat one of my category pages (called Gallery).
Initially the page showed the gallery title and thumbnails, but I wanted the page to only display the gallery title. Now the titles are not aligned and the page does not look the same as the other pages.
Can someone please advise either a) how to update change the page to look like the others OR b) how I go about restoring the previous php file which would have the previous category page template?
A link to the page is here: http://www2.kasc.com.au/index.php/category/gallery/
(My next step is of course to understand how to create a child theme!)
Another question – one of my colleagues looked at the site on her computer and the Logo and site image appeared upside down? On all my devices it looked normal, but her image was definitely flipped. Is this something I should be looking into?
Many thanks for any advice!!

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi Stacey
Thanks for reaching out, great to hear from you 🙂
A quick reminder that all WordPress themes and plugins completely overwrite their own folder during updates. So, for example, if we release an update for Ultra and you run that update, any changes made to your theme files at a code level will be lost. If you do want to make code level changes they need to be done using a child theme. Alternatively, for Custom CSS you can use a plugin like Simple Custom CSS and for PHP functions you can use a plugin called Code Snippets.
You can find out about child themes here: https://purothemes.com/documentation/general-wordpress/creating-child-theme/ and grab a starter for Ultra here: https://purothemes.com/documentation/ultra-theme/child-theme-library/.
Assuming you haven’t edited any other files at a code level, the easiest way to resolve would be to switch to any theme from Appearance > Themes and then click on Ultra > Theme Details > Delete. Then, re-install from Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme > Activate. There is a link to the premium ZIP file in your original order email from Puro. If you need to have that email resent to you and have access to your PayPal email address then you can use this form: https://purothemes.com/orders/.
The upside down logo bug is due to the image orientation not being respected by certain devices. You can read more about it here: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/14459 if you’re interested. I think the easiest way to resolve would be to open your logo in an image editor like Photoshop or similar and resave in another format, perhaps PNG.
Let me know how this goes 🙂

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHere is your logo in JPG format, perhaps try replacing your current logo with this one:

Stacey HansenParticipantThank you Andrew! (I should have messaged hours earlier!).
I’ve replaced the logo and will check with my friend if it is fixed.
I’m now off to create a child theme 🙂
Thanks for replying so quickly!
