explauramayParticipantAnother one sorry – I’m STOKED that your theme supports multiple menu levels. However I note that if I use them, the links will end up to the right of the page (ie from main menu down, then hover over menu item and the submenu items will pop off to the right, off the screen. I’ll work around it but it would be SUPER cool if menus could look like, eg
Americas
Argentina
Colombia
USEurope
Belgium
Greece
UK(Yes, yes it’s a travel blog.)

explauramayParticipantAlso, the submenus go VERY funny if you scroll down the page. They don’t line up with the menu items any more.

explauramayParticipantALSO, if one of the submenus is long then you can’t access the end of it (see eg Locations>Europe on my blog)

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi explauramay
Thanks for giving Ultra a try, glad to hear you’re making progress.
There is a lot of freedom offered with sub-menus, the idea being that you might assign a sub sub menu item as your first or second item, it would then have lots of space to open. As far as I know there isn’t any way for the theme to easily detect if it’s run out of space to open sub menus. We could restrict sub menus to say one or two but we’ve opted to give the user the choice in this case. Hope that makes sense.
Yikes! Alignment issues as you scroll down. That’s a problem. Sorry for the hassle and thanks for reporting. I’ll have a fix included in the next update.
Thanks ๐

Andrew MisplonKeymasterWith regards to the long sub-menu item not displaying nicely; if your site is live, perhaps send through a link so I can take a look. If you’d like to send that privately, please check the Set as private reply checkbox.

explauramayParticipantYeah I can’t recall if I had the submenu-too-long issue with previous themes. I moved the menu with submenus to the left, so that the menu wouldn’t run off the side of the page (right). Not really sure what to do about my ‘Europe’ submenu on my site (www.explaura.net). Perhaps I’ll make a very un-PC call and divide it into Western and Eastern Europe. Cos that’ll go down a treat haha!

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks for the feedback and link to check out.
If the overall font size is set back to its original value and you make use of the font size CSS I sent through the menu font will go back to its original value. This is because the CSS I sent was specifically targeted at paragraphs and lists in the entry-content div. If this isn’t suitable just let me know on our font-size thread and I’ll take another look. The smaller font size might make the menu drop downs fit a little better.
Earlier you said:

But unfortunately as you saw the forum didn’t parse that formatting. Do you perhaps have a visual example somewhere of what you meant?

explauramayParticipantWell, there are some crazy menus with eg the Valentin theme. There somehow menus can take up the entire width of the page. Eg theadventurejunkies.com (and speaking of their site, it’s mad cool how their post featured images stretches across). I’ve also seen accordion-style menus. What I meant though was eg (where — is a space/bit of an indent)
Europe
–Austria
–Belgium
–CyprusOr if it could be in two columns somehow. No idea. The prob is definitely the length of my menu, but if you end up offering a premium version then I guess people will expect to be able to have longer submenus ๐

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks for the feedback. This is sometimes referred to as a mega menu. Ultra Premium is coming soon. I haven’t looked into this yet but certainly will as soon as I’m able. For now, if there is anything I can do within the current setup to help, please let me know.
Thanks again for the feedback.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi ๐
Quick update regarding the 0.9.4 update.
Left Aligned Drop Down Menus
Left aligned drop down menus are now a menu option. The method is listed at the link below. Not too much effort. You can choose which menus you’d like to drop down left.
https://purothemes.com/documentation/ultra-theme/menu-locations/
Iโve unfortunately missed something. I havenโt reversed the left alignment for the responsive menu so if you do use this technique, please add the following to a Custom CSS plugin like Simple Custom CSS to correct:
/* Remove after Ultra 0.9.5: Correct left aligned drop down menus in the responsive menu */ .responsive-menu .main-navigation.toggled ul li.left ul { text-align: left; }
I also included some helper styles for the My Book Table plugin you’re using.

explauramayParticipantI didn’t get *this* reply, either. I’m going to keep a closer eye on your forums from now on. Perhaps you’re winding up in spam or something…
October 3, 2015 at 10:18 pm #2487
Andrew MisplonKeymasterCould be Spam for sure. We’re using Mandrill (MailChimp) to handle email sends which make them super reliable. Unfortunately! It seems BBPress gets around Mandrill so we might land up with the Spam issue you’ve outlined. Sorry about that. You’re welcome to bump me if you haven’t heard back.
The Custom CSS above shouldn’t be necessary now.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterIf I don’t reply tonight then I’ll be back on tomorrow. Thanks ๐
