Dan Frank KuehnParticipantI’m adapting your Puro theme for a client who is just delighted so far, but has asked if I can move the slider to the top, with the logo and navigation below the slider.
Here’s the testing site: http://donnaclairart.com/wp/
Slider flush with the top… What do you think?
I’ve already duplicated the logo/navigation in the footer widget… that was easy.I’ve got the Custom CSS plugin and have used it a bit on your theme.
Of course, I’d rather not mess with the php files. Thanks for a great basic, but very expandable theme!

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi Dan
Thanks for your support; great to hear from you.
We’ll need to swap the order of functions in header.php so this will require a child theme. I’ve worked one up for you. It’s easy to install but, unfortunately, activating a child theme will cause the Customizer > Theme Design section to reset. It’s a bit of a mission. Here are my steps for installation:
1. Download the child theme ZIP file:
https://purothemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/puro-child-slider-before-header.zip2. Before installing, open Appearance > Customize > Theme Design.
3. Install the child theme in a new tab, leaving the Customizer open in another tab.
Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme > Activate.4. Go to Appearance > Menus and re-assign the menu location settings. Those get reset when a child theme is activated.
5. Now for the mission. Open Appearance > Customize > Theme Design. In your original tab you have all the settings you saved. Use that tab to visually/manually copy your settings over to the new tab.
Your slider should now be displaying above the header, the Customizer has been setup again and menu location settings saved again. You should be good to go.
Let me know how you come along 🙂
