I’ve just changed my website to Ultra theme and all was working fine. Today I checked it and found that the media thumbnails that I had on the ‘portfolio’ page are no longer there. Instead is a heading ‘Archives: Projects’ and a search bar.I have a very basic knowledge of this and be very grateful if you can help me fix it. I want the media gallery of thumbnails to load as it was yesterday.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi Nicole
Thanks for reaching out.
We shouldn’t be seeing page not found. Can you try going to Settings > Permalinks and just clicking “Save”. That’ll re-write your site’s htaccess file and might help.
Which theme were you using before this? I ask because Ultra doesn’t have Jetpack Portfolio support, but, depending on how your site looked before, I might be able to child theme a solution for you today.

nicolefearfieldartParticipantThanks Andrew for your fast reply. I’ve clicked ‘save’ in the the permalinks settings. but didn’t’ see any changes on the portfolio page.
Before this I was using Contango, rather inexpertly and infrequently. I wanted to move away from a blog and really just have somewhere to post paintings in a gallery as I finished them. Grateful for your help.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterAny chance you could send us your projects backup so we could take a quick look at how it’s rendering? If that’s ok then head to:
Tools > Export click WordPress, install the plugin if necessary.
Then go back to Tools > Export and just export the Projects post type.
Upload to your Media Library and send us the link.Thanks.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterIn demo testing Ultra seems to render projects ok, basically the same way it would render posts. Any chance I could login and take a quick look at what’s going on on your side?
If possible, please, create a new user account at Users > Add New, make it Administrator level and use [email protected] as the email address, Puro as the username. When we’re done you can safely delete the account.
Thanks 🙂

Andrew MisplonKeymasterI think I’ve resolved the problem. I went to Settings > Reading, temporarily de-activated Jetpack Projects/Portfolio Type, then went to Settings > Permalinks and clicked Saved, then enabled the Jetpack custom post type again. All seems ok now.

nicolefearfieldartParticipantWow, that’s wonderful. Thanks Andrew for figuring out the solution, very grateful to you. All working now, Ace support!
