elistonerowParticipantHello:
I am pretty new to WordPress and have enjoyed building our site using the Ultra Theme. So far I have done everything using the options directly available without customizing any code. And I just purchased Ultra Premium because I like this so much! 🙂
A few questions:
– on mobile only the main menu bar displays (as responsive which is fine), but not the Top Bar menu. I have separated functions between top bar (mostly things like contact us, calendar, etc) and the main menu bar (registering for rowing classes etc by class type). This has helped to clean up the site tremendously. The problem is that on Mobile, since the Top Bar menu does not display, users don’t have access to those links. I really did not want to have to add those links to the Main menu bar.– on the mobile site, the logo does not display, nor any header image. I am using the a Meta slider slideshow, so I can understand that maybe that is too complex for mobile, but at least some image should show. I have included a Logo and Tag line in the design, which displays just fine on the full desktop site, but the page is very dull on mobile without any header or banner images. Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi @elistonerow
Thanks so much for your support, it’s most appreciated!
The top bar, logo and Meta Slider should display on mobile. I’m working on a mobile solution for the top bar that I will include in the next version. It’ll collapse the top bar and allow the user to pull it down. Of course, if that doesn’t work for you once it’s released, get in touch and we’ll work on a child theme solution that does.
Could you perhaps send a URL to your site if it’s live. There is a “Set as private reply” checkbox below the comment field to keep things like this private. I’m sure I can help once I’ve taken a look.
Thanks 🙂

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks for the feedback 🙂
Home Page Template
If you’d like to remove the grey bar under the slider try this. Go to Pages > Home and locate the page template drop down in the right column. Set it to Default – No Title.
Mobile
To get Ultra displaying on mobile, go to Jetpack Settings and de-activate the Jetpack Mobile theme.
Breacrumb Trail
Perhaps give the built in breadcrumb trail a try at Appearance > Theme Settings > Navigation > Breadcrumb Trail. It will add a little link trail on the far right of the page title.
Tagline
To get your tagline displaying on one line. Go to Appearance > Edit CSS and insert the following.
/* Header */ .site-header .site-branding-container { max-width: 36%; } .main-navigation { max-width: 64%; }
If you had to crop your logo a little tighter the tagline would sit a bit closer to it.
Drop Down Menus
If there are any drop down menus you’d rather swing to the left, rather than to the right (as it is by default). Please, see the section labelled Changing Drop Down Menu Direction here: https://purothemes.com/documentation/ultra-theme/menu-locations/. Just something optional that I thought I’d mention.
Footer Smiley Face
In the far left corner of the footer is a smiley face. Not sure why it does this but it’s caused by the Jetpack Stats module.
If there is anything else I can assist with, please, let me know. The mobile issue should be quite simple. Below that I’ve thrown in a few ideas. Let me know how you come along.

elistonerowParticipantThank you!
I have implemented most of your suggestions!
I now have top bar menu and MetaSlider displaying on mobile. A much more interesting site now!For shifting the Drop Down Menus to the left, the suggested change worked great for Chrome and Firefox, but IE seems to be ignoring the change on Desktop. I use Chrome on my mobile and it looks good there. Weird behavior by IE or is that typical uncooperative IE behavior? 😉
I decided to not make the change to the CSS for the tagline. While it worked well on the desktop site, it had a strange result on mobile where the logo got squished down to a very small size, and the tagline was large and split into many lines. Maybe we’ll just shorten the tag line a little bit. I’ll let my marketing people worry about that 🙂
Thank you for all of your help! This theme is really fantastic. Makes a HUGE difference in the look of our site.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks for you feedback, really glad to hear we made progress on your main query.
Thanks for letting me know about the left menu IE issue, I’ll need to take a look at that. I’ll also take a look at the tagline on mobile you mentioned above. Leave those with me for a little bit. I’ll get back to you on both of these points ASAP.
Chat soon.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi 🙂 So sorry for the late reply. I haven’t made much progress on the IE issue but would be more than happy to dive into the tagline problem you mentioned OR any other issue you’re still having. Let me know. Thanks.
