johnwielgoszParticipantI am a first time user of WordPress. I really like the Ultra theme and have used it to build a prototype web site. In this web site there is a menu called “home” which appears in the top bar. The items displayed in the top bar seem to be in alphabetical order according to the names of the corresponding top level pages that are included in the “home” menu. I have tried to change the order of the items using the “move up” function of the items but this has no effect – the items are still in the same (alphabetical) order. Please tell me how to change the order of the items displayed in the top bar menu. Many thanks, John Wielgosz.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi John
Thanks for reaching out 🙂
Please, could you check if you have a custom menu assigned to the top bar menu location? If you go to Appearance > Menus > Manage Locations you’ll get a quick overview of your menu location assignments. If you do have a custom menu assigned then click back over to Edit Menus menus tab and select your top bar menu, scroll down to the bottom and deselect “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu”.
In summary, if you have a custom menu assigned to this location, you should have full control over which pages display and their order.
Tip: Ultra’s social menu locations can now display normal menu items and all normal menu locations can now display social icons. To find out about adding a social icon, see: https://purothemes.com/documentation/general-wordpress/social-icons-menus/
