Magnus FrederiksenParticipantHi.
I have a problem with text-boxes when using VC – when i enter text – click save – close and then update – the text i entered remains – but all other textboxes loose their text and now only has “I am a textbox….” standard text… any advice on how to overcome this?

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi Magnus
Thanks for reaching out.
Unfortunately, some time ago, it became unmanageable for SiteOrigin to maintain compatibility with VC. SiteOrigin tried hard to resolve the issue but had to eventually decide to abandon compatibility for the Widgets Bundle and VC.
Although you haven’t mentioned the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, it’s my guess after reading your post. If possible, it would be best to change to core VC blocks on the pages you’re actively working on.
I’ll be back at my computer a bit later today to answer any follow-up questions you may have.
Thanks again.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks, you can ignore my previous reply, it doesn’t look like you’re using the SiteOrigin Editor widget in Visual Composer.
I’m not quite sure what might be causing this issue. You can try the following, temporarily deactivate all plugins except for Visual Composer. Re-try the issue. In this state, does the issue persist? If the issue does persist then temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen and re-test, does the issue persist?
The above is a plugin and theme conflict test. You’re trying to locate a working baseline. If you can locate a working baseline then further tests can be run for the moment, you’re just trying to find a working baseline. If you are using any caching plugins, clear their cache before deactivation.

Magnus FrederiksenParticipantDisabled all plugins except WPBakery Visual Composer makes the WPBakery Visual Composer go into loop when i try to edit page:

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks. Did you try this same test with the Twenty Nineteen theme activated? That’ll rule out a theme issue while also ruling out a plugin conflict issue.
Are you using a paid version of VC? If so, it might be useful to take advantage of their premium support.

Magnus FrederiksenParticipantHi – deleted the WPBakery Page Builder in an atempt to force update – i did not work – creating a new staging site now – will try with Twenty Nineteen.
No not using paid VC – guessed that WPBakery Page Builder. was bundled with the theme…July 6, 2020 at 7:40 pm #14700
Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks for the testing feedback.
WPBakery Page Builder isn’t bundled with Ultra.
Let me know how it goes.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi, a quick follow-up. Have you made any progress?
July 8, 2020 at 6:01 pm #14708
Magnus FrederiksenParticipantSorry for the delay – it turned out that removing the wp bakery builder – buying a license and installing updated version resolved the error… sorry for involving you when the error had nothing to do with the theme.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterNo problem at all. I’m really glad to hear the updated WP Bakery version resolved the issue.
Cheers for now 🙂
