Thanks the other day helping me with the footer, its great now, I understand how to do all this.
I have had a few customers say that when they are using the website they are having to click the navigation buttons twice in order for them to get to the pages.
Is there something we can do to stop this?
I tried on my ipad and had the same issue, you have to click twice for the navigation link to work?
We have moved the websites to a new vps server as it was far too slow on the account we had and it has improved the speed quite a lot but we have an issue with the time delays on the orders on woocommerce when they click the purchase button.
What we are noticing is the order numbers are so far apart so for example we get an email with order number 500 and then the next order number is maybe 510 and then the next 512 and then 518 etc.. and I think that is the delay in processing that I mentioned before?
I really need to speed that up, we have changed our email provider for dealing with the server to gmail and have paid for gsuite as well.

I’ll resolve the tap issue in the next release of Polestar, not this one that just went out, the next one that’ll follow. I’ll send you a copy of the release candidate before then.
With my client, I didn’t fully resolve the WooCommerce checkout delay issue we discussed earlier. I greatly reduced it by using SendGrid in combination with the SendGrid plugin. Even SendGrid with an SMTP plugin with SendGrid integration didn’t work well, we specifically needed the SendGrid plugin.
Here is the plugin we used: https://wordpress.org/plugins/sendgrid-email-delivery-simplified/. You can signup for a SendGrid trial and stay free if you send less than 100 emails a day. You’ll need to make some changes to your DNS to get it tightly integrated but they walk you through that. I recommend turning off link tracking unless you purchase the monthly package and can active link branding.

Those missing order numbers are orders that aren’t being fully processed. Try the solution I’ve suggested above with SendGrid and the SendGrid plugin.

Thanks Andrew, but this site is getting too much traffic to pay for yet another service, we went with gmail and gsuite as it allowed us more scope for other things.
Is there no way, you could do something so when they click the submit button for the payment something pops up to say wait while order processes or something like that, I have seen this on many other sites before, where you click the payment or form button and it makes you wait?March 19, 2019 at 7:50 pm #12337
If you’re sending under 100 systemwide emails a day, you can use the free tier on SendGrid. To confirm, I don’t have a solution for this problem other than I noticed it was linked to email sending and found the specific combination of SendGrid and their WordPress plugin to be the quickest combination for the client site I was working on.
Sure, a pop-up like the one you’re describing is possible. I can’t find a plugin that’ll do this. That doesn’t mean there isn’t one out there, I just couldn’t find one immediately. Without a plugin, it would be a custom development job.

More on this delay. I have set up now using gmail and it works fine and deals with the website fine. But this delay is losing us sales now. We have lots of customers clicking and clicking when they click PLACE ORDER.
The problem I think is the wheel that spins when it processes the order is right at the top of the page, so the user thinks nothing is happening and keeps on clicking and we have been told by some they just start the order again thinking there is a problem.
Could you not have this spinning icon either overlay the page so they know something is happening or have it nearer to the PLACE ORDER button?
If there was some form of action the user was aware of I think that would help in the short term.

I’m not currently aware of a plugin that can insert a notification at the time you’d like one to be inserted. It’s perhaps a three-hour custom development job to build something like that. Codeable.io is a good place to hire for custom development of this sort.
I’ve dealt with a WooCommerce checkout delay similar to the one you’ve encountered once with a client site. That problem was mostly resolved by using SendGrid and the SendGrid plugin specifically, not WP SMTP or another SMTP plugin. SendGrid offers 100 free emails a day on their free tier. My recommendation is to give that a try. On that particular site, we originally used Gmail and a SMTP plugin, the delay was too long. The problem was resolved by switching to SendGrid.
