I can’t for the life of me understand why I can’t see the post comments privacy check box.
I see the code “<?php comment_form(); ?>” in the theme comments.php – however I am using a child theme…do I need to add something to my child functions.php?
“Show comments cookies opt-in checkbox. ” is checked in my Discussion settings.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! TIA.

    Hi Jeff

    Thanks for posting.

It does look like Ultra is missing that field, I’ll add it for an update next week.

However, with your current setup, you wouldn’t see it even once it’s added. Your comments are currently only enabled for logged in users. Once users are logged in, their name, email, and website is automatically saved for when they comment. Logged in users only see the comment form, they don’t see the name, email and website fields as those have already been added as part of their profile when they signed up. As a result, consent isn’t required to save that information as it’s saved part of their user profile.

These screenshots are from another theme: https://imgur.com/a/G3Y6R5Y. That’s how Ultra will behave once this field is added. The checkbox isn’t available to logged in users, neither is the name, email or website fields, all are already saved, no permission is required to save them.

    Hope that helps 🙂
