JesParticipantHi team,
I set my galleries layout for 2-3 columns, but on the frontend all galleries only showed 1 column without margins.
I tried to deactivate-reactivate my plugins, changed my layout width and all, but nothing worked so far. It’s impacting all my other blogs. I reached out to WordPress.org and they suggested me to check with my theme provider.
Would appreciate it if anyone could help resolve this issue. Thank you very much.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi Jes
Thanks for getting in touch.
The plugin conflict test is a bit misunderstood. When all plugins are deactivated, is a working baseline available? If the answer is yes, then you’d reactivate your plugins one by one until the issue reoccurs. If the answer is no, the test has failed, and you can reactivate all plugins at once.
Please, let me know which gallery to check at the above link, and I’ll take a look. I’m not spotting any single-column galleries at the moment.

JesParticipantThanks Andrew for your prompt response. I removed the customized CSS code and you should see the problem now.
I deactivated all plugins and the layouts are still the same – single column no margins, so it should not be the plugins issue.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks for the update.
– Which plugin is minifying and combining your styles? Please, try clearing that plugin and then deactivating it.
– Does the issue persist with another theme activated?
I can’t replicate the issue at the moment. I can take another look a bit later today.

JesParticipantHi Andrew, thank you for helping look into my case.
I switched to a WordPress theme and the gallery seemed working fine, but when I switched back to the Polestar theme the layout issue appeared again.

JesParticipantNvm – I was using a child theme, now switched to the original Polestar version and it’s fine now.
Does it mean that I can’t use child theme anymore?

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks for the updates. Is there anything in your child theme that would impact galleries? Does the issue occur when using the starter child theme provided at the below URL?

JesParticipantHappy New Year Andrew 🙂
I think for now I’m going to skip the child theme since I don’t have much customization after all. Thank you very much for your timely support on my issue. I really appreciate it.
Have a wonderful 2023!

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHappy New Year 🙂
A quick remember that certain theme settings are linked to the active theme and change when you switch from the parent to the child. It’s easy to migrate those settings, though, so nothing to worry about https://purothemes.com/customizer-settings-export-import/.
Hope you have a great year too! Thanks.
