When I navigate to the customization screen all I see is a blank screenSeptember 27, 2016 at 5:33 pm #5008
This error is either due to a plugin conflict or a shortage of PHP memory. The PHP memory issue is the easiest to resolve, contact your hosts and kindly ask if they increase the available PHP memory for WordPress to 256 or higher.
The plugin conflict test is outlined here if you need to move onto that, if the memory bump doesn’t help: https://purothemes.com/documentation/general-wordpress/resolving-plugin-conflicts/.September 27, 2016 at 5:35 pm #5009
Well I haven’t installed any plugins yet so…September 27, 2016 at 5:37 pm #5010
Memory limit then. You can adjust yourself but there is some code involved. Asking your hosts is the route most users take. Quick email or live chat/phone call if you can, that’s usually faster.September 27, 2016 at 5:59 pm #5011
I am using godaddy and they don’t seem to want to help. Is there somewhere I should drop the ini_set(‘memory_limit’, ‘256M’); ?September 27, 2016 at 6:29 pm #5012
Here is a tutorial that might help: http://codingcyber.com/how-to-increase-php-memory-limit-on-godaddy-hosting-882/#September 27, 2016 at 6:35 pm #5013

Are all plugins deactivated? If yes, does the issue persist with a default theme like Twenty Sixteen?September 27, 2016 at 6:43 pm #5015

The Console error is a core WordPress error, it looks like files might be missing.
