jkreamParticipantIs there a way to prevent the Page Name from displaying on the page?
Specifically I do not want the Page Name to Display on the Static Home page. It is redundant to the Company logo.July 27, 2016 at 8:16 pm #4319
Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi jkream
Thanks for your question. Go to
Pages > Home
and use the Template drop-down menu in the right column Page Attributes meta box to selectFull Width - No Title
orDefault - No Title
template.Hope that helps.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterWe’ve run into an email issue this evening. Apologies if a reply didn’t reach you. I can see the missing widget but am not sure why it isn’t displaying, its code is there. I would try removing all other sidebar widgets to see if it’s a conflict. In situations like this, it’s best to try remove elements until the problem resolves and then add them back until it breaks to find the issue. The extreme of this would be to turn all plugins off and switch to Twenty Sixteen theme. Does the widget work then?

jkreamParticipantI removed them all and started over. This did not solve the problem. I got a different Date Time Widget which works, then my Google Maps Widget and Contact Widget disappeared. I inserted the contact widget as short code and now it is there, but the Google Maps Widget won’t show up as either short code or widget.
Sometimes it will appear on the home page once, but if I navigate away from it, all the subsequent pages don’t have it in the sidebar, and when I go back to the home page its missing?
I think this all started when I switched from the default template to Default- No Title?

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThe template switch described just removes the page title but loads the sidebar in the exact same manner. Have you reverted the page template to test this idea out?
July 28, 2016 at 3:59 pm #4343
jkreamParticipantYes, reverting did not solve it

Andrew MisplonKeymasterNicely done, that rules out the page template as an issue then. With the Maps issue, have you perhaps tried the SiteOrigin Google Maps widget? If you have the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle installed under Plugins you can go to Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets to activate the Maps widget. Note, that it does require a Maps API key: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key.

jkreamParticipantLooks like Google APIs is not working right now – I ‘ll have to try later
July 28, 2016 at 8:06 pm #4348
Andrew MisplonKeymasterCool, let me know how it goes 🙂
July 29, 2016 at 2:34 pm #4352
jkreamParticipantAPI obtained and confirmed functional
Still experiencing the same behavior as before.
JConsole reports:
Prefixed Fullscreen API is deprecated. Please use unprefixed API for fullscreen. For more help https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Fullscreen_API controls.js:23:54
“Google Maps API warning: InvalidKey https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#invalid-key”
So I guess this has nothing to do with Puro, and something to do with me not understanding how to get, or use a key.
Thanks for your help

jkreamParticipantSorry to keep bugging you. But I got the API to work and the maps show on the home page, but not on the others. Now the map still works on the home page even after I leave it and navigate back, but the other pages just show a blank where the map should be. On the other pages I am getting 3 jQuery is not defined messages which don’t show on the Home page so I have to think that might be related to the problem but I have no Idea what the error messages refer to.
July 29, 2016 at 8:47 pm #4358
Andrew MisplonKeymasterNo problem. Glad you’ve made some progress. If the API key is inserted in the widget and the widget is in a widget area, not Page Builder, meaning it’s the same widget over and over then it should be working on all pages. Can you confirm that? Is this the same widget on all pages or different widgets? If it’s different widgets, have you inserted the API key into all of them.
Also, are you using a caching plugin? If so, clear your cache and deactivate it until your site’s development is complete. Caching could be a reason you aren’t seeing changes reflect immediately.

jkreamParticipantIgnore the below. I deactivated W3 Total Cache and it works fine now – thank you for your time and have a good weekend
The API key is in the widget, and it is now working, (not getting invalid key msg anymore), on the Home page
I have only inserted the widget in to the sidebar. So it should be the same widget over and over. I don’t think I know how to put it in a single page individually?
The ‘other’ pages that are not displaying the map are holding a place for it in the sidebar equal to the size of the map on the home page, but it is blank. I am not using PageBuilder. I am using the SiteOrigins map widget that you recommended.
Am using
