LiSkyndenParticipantHey, is there any way to use a different logo on mobile, and on sticky header (when scrolling down)?
June 20, 2016 at 5:20 pm #3864
Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi LiSkynden
Thanks for reaching out.
I should be able to assist with this task. It isn’t possible from within the theme settings but is possible with a little custom development. I’ll do my best to get back to you tomorrow with a solution.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi π Are you using a child theme already?
June 21, 2016 at 4:49 pm #3922
LiSkyndenParticipantErm … nope. Is that a problem? :/
I have been using WP only a short while now so i only edit with CSS.June 21, 2016 at 4:55 pm #3924
Andrew MisplonKeymasterApologies, you did supply a URL so I can check that for myself. Not sure where your coding level is at, but here is the child theme, ver. 01.
https://purothemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/ultra-child-liskynden-01.zip
Once unzipped, the following URL’s need changing:
functions.php: line 21 (sticky logo)
header.php: line 35 (mobile logo)
You’ll see my placeholder URL there from testing, those need to be your image URL’s. Let me know if you’re able to do this change, if not I will supply further instructions.
Keep in mind that, unfortunately, installing a child theme will reset Menu Location settings and Customizer settings. There isn’t any easy way around this. It’ll mean a bit of reset work. I usually open the Customizer Theme Design section in one tab and install the child theme in another so I can manually copy settings over. Hopefully, in the future we’ll have a better of handling this transition.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThe image URL’s should ideally come from your Media Library, you can get a URL by editing the image and copying the URL from the right column meta box.
You could do things like this:
1. Download ZIP to your desktop.
2. Install child theme ZIP from Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme.
3. You might want to put the site into maintenance mode using WP Maintenance Mode plugin.
4. With the child theme activated, go to Appearance > Editor and make the changes to the lines I described above.June 21, 2016 at 7:23 pm #3926
LiSkyndenParticipantHey, thank you so much. Great instructions π You have been very helpfull. I think i can manage this … but as being a WP noob, lol, i have to ask: does this change anything in the layout or other things?
A few times i tried to find out about how to make child themes but i havent have enough time.
Anyway, i will let you know tomorrow if i succeed with this.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterFor sure π
Yes, it will. Activating a child theme will completely reset
Appearance > Customize > Theme Design
andAppearance > Menus > Menu Locations
. My previous tip was about this issue:There isnβt any easy way around this. Itβll mean a bit of reset work. LiSkyndenParticipantHey this was actually pretty simple and easy with your instructions π I tested it on the testing site, and it didnt mess up anything … maybe i havent done that much in the “Customizer ” area.
Take a look
http://www.testailu1.salonrakennuspelti.fi/Hey, i’m not sure if you are in the devepoer team, and i dont know how bug job it would be, but this could be a great update to the theme. (maybe one of the a pro version options) I mean putting this option so that a noobs like me could just change the mobile and sticky logos in the “Customizer ” area.
I have seen at least one theme that has an option for “sticky” logo … I think it was the Press CustomizrAnyway, A BIG thank you to you Andrew π

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks for your feedback. A sticky logo setting is a great idea. I’m really glad to hear the changes helped.
All the best with your site π
