We are at the final stages of finishing our website. Thanks for your support on the various issues in the past. This one could be the last request for support (hopefully). The search field box vanishes after I click the search icon:
It is in the header.
Also if I manage to type the word in the search box after repeated attempts, the search results come out to be only 1 per page (so say, 99 hits would be 99 individual search pages only to be accessed by clicking next button).
Can you please help?July 5, 2017 at 11:46 am #7181
Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself with a signature in the previous post.

Please, remind me what we did with your child theme. We need to update the JS file I think. How did I send your child theme to you, was it here on the forum or via email?July 5, 2017 at 12:45 pm #7183
Your reply #6111 in “Spacing above Footer Area” post mentions you updated the header.php. Would this help? If you need access to the header file, please let me know.

Try switching to parent theme, does this issue persist? If not, please see below.
Do you have FTP or Hosting File Manager access? If so, please, go to /wp-content/themes/ and download ultra-child to your desktop. ZIP it, upload to any cloud location like Dropbox and send me the link so I can download it. Thanks.July 5, 2017 at 3:08 pm #7186
I sent you the zip file through Dropbox.

The file sent doesn’t contain a /js folder but the functions file is calling a file in the /js folder and your child theme is showing one on the site front end. Please, can you check that you’re sending the entire child theme.July 6, 2017 at 9:09 pm #7206
I removed js folder and search is working fine now – do we need js folder? Sorry about that. But one thing still remains. The search results are given only 1 per page. So if I have 100 hits, I will get 100 pages to scroll through by clicking next. You can use “meditation” to search, and we get 84 pages. Note that we have just now moved from beta to live:

No problem. I’m not sure what was in your child theme js file though. If you’ve removed it then ideally, in your child functions.php file you need to remove this line:
wp_enqueue_script( 'ultra-child-theme', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '//puro-4401.kxcdn.com/js/jquery.theme-child.js', array('jquery'), SITEORIGIN_THEME_VERSION, true );
Search results get their count from
Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most. Check what that is set to.July 8, 2017 at 3:08 am #7233
We removed the code and we will check if anything is broken (unlikely).
Yes, I increased the count to 10 and now we get 10 search results per page.
We are all set. You may close this incident now. Thanks again for your help.
