Alyssa DCParticipantHi, I want to make the top bar disappear.
I have all things related to the top bar unchecked on theme settings. I’ve tried to use #top-bar { display: none;} in my child theme but nothing seems to work. There’s still a black bar on top of the page.
Please, please, please help.
Cheers

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi Alyssa
Thanks for reaching out.
The fourth setting at Appearance > Theme Settings labelled
Top Bar
should disable the top bar completely. If it isn’t, try switching to the parent theme to see if the problem relates to your child theme.April 1, 2016 at 1:03 pm #3300
Alyssa DCParticipantHi Andrew,
Is there a specific class for the top bar? I don’t want to risk switching themes.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterI realise it can seem like a big move to temporarily switch themes. I assure you that no content loss will occur. When you switch a theme WordPress is just choosing which folder in
/wp-content/themes/
to point to, nothing is changed, no files are altered, nothing in the database is removed. It would be best to isolate why this theme setting isn’t working for you.April 1, 2016 at 1:06 pm #3302

Alyssa DCParticipantI changed my theme back to the parent theme but the top bar was still there. So I checked the theme settings and anything regarding the top bar was unchecked.

Andrew MisplonKeymasterThanks for sending your URL. The top bar you’re seeing isn’t generated by the theme. It’s the WordPress admin top bar. Please, check your Plugins list for a plugin that might be adding this functionality.
