explauramayParticipantHey guys,
After ?the last? update, my blog page is NO LONGER WORKING. (Cos capitalising that once wasn’t enough, apparently.) I have a static front page and display my blog posts elsewhere, I’ve tried deactivating all plugins, removing caching etc–and the ONLY thing that restores it is removing the Ultra theme and using a different theme instead. For this reason I believe it is a theme error.
Please help 🙂

/blog-posts/ (set as ‘blog’ page, nothing displaying). Thanks,

Andrew MisplonKeymasterHi Laura
Sorry to hear about the challenge. Is this the page you’re troubleshooting?

All seems well there. When you say the Blog page is no longer working, could you perhaps explain a bit more?

Andrew MisplonKeymasterI missed your last comments:
/blog/ (using a post content loop, content is displaying)
/blog-posts/ (set as ‘blog’ page, nothing displaying). The Post Loop widget should use one of the following templates available in the drop down menu within the widget:
Blog
Left Aligned Medium
Left Aligned ThumbnailYour blog is is displaying properly on my side.

explauramayParticipantHey Andrew, the Post Loop is fine, but the blog page is not functioning properly. Say you go to Customise>Static Front Page> and then set the home page as whatever, then you set the blog page as ‘xyz’. All posts should automatically show on ‘xyz’, and you just leave this page blank and published. However, ‘xyz’ is currently /blog-posts/, and you’ll see that there’s no content…… Wait what the hell, it just started working. WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING.

explauramayParticipantI’m blaming it on WP Super Cache. I’d deactivated and then deleted it, but perhaps it took a while to flush the cache. I retract my earlier capital letters 🙂

Andrew MisplonKeymasterGlad to hear you made progress. Caching plugins can cause challenges. Specifically the minification of CSS and JS. Always a good place to start checking if you’re seeing un-explained errors.
All the best.
