    Hi Danny

    Thanks for reaching out. So sorry for the hassle. I see the problem. Unfortunately, I can only have an update out on Thursday to fix this. If you’d like to fix this right away you could add to your child theme functions.php file:

    if ( ! function_exists( 'polestar_woocommerce_paypal_icon' ) ) :
    /**
     * Add a consistent PayPal icon.
     */
    function polestar_woocommerce_paypal_icon( $url ) {
    	return get_template_directory_uri() . '/woocommerce/images/paypal-icon.png';
    }
    endif;
    add_filter( 'woocommerce_paypal_icon', 'polestar_woocommerce_paypal_icon' );

    And then remove that function once the next update is out, although it won’t matter if you leave it, it’s just neater to remove it.

    Thanks for reporting this, appreciate the help.

    Super 🙂 Glad to hear that helped. All the best.

    Sure.

    Try removing the MetaSlider widget, the page slider is being outputted via the page metabox setting on the right, not by that widget, as far as I can see.

    Hi Sara

    Thanks for posting.

    It looks like you have a blank/empty row above your Features widget. Please, try removing that row.

    Sure.

    The setup is quite easy to follow, you can also filter out the sidebar body class if you wanted.

    Sidebar called in single:
    https://github.com/purothemes/polestar/blob/master/single.php#L48

    If the sidebar widget area is populated, add a class name to the body tag:
    https://github.com/purothemes/polestar/blob/master/inc/extras.php#L46-L49

    If the sidebar class is present in the body tag, setup the container widths as required:
    https://github.com/purothemes/polestar/blob/master/sass/site/_layout.scss#L27-L41

    Unfortunately, there isn’t a global setting to remove the sidebar from single posts. Options are:

    1. Widget Visibility module.
    2. WooSidebars plugin.
    3. Child theme, remove the sidebar from single and override the the layout with a custom CSS rule.
    4. Child theme, remove the sidebar from single and filter out the unwanted body class with a conditional statement for when you want it removed. Something like this: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/15850/remove-classes-from-body-class

    Hope that helps explain what’s going on there.

    (Just for reference sake, the advantage of the Widget Visibility method is that the sidebar is seen as empty so the sidebar class isn’t added to the body tag and the theme stylesheet will style the single post as full-width.)

    The theme still sees widgets active in the sidebar widget area so it’s adding a body class for that and then CSS rules target that class. To change that, try adding to your Custom CSS or child theme style.css file:

    .single.sidebar .content-area {
    	width: 100%;
    }

    Super 🙂 Copy single.php from the parent to the child theme and remove get_sidebar(); on line 48. That’s it 🙂

    Jetpack with all modules except for Widget Visibility disabled is a lightweight solution. It’s also theme independent. WooSidebars would be another option.

    No problem. I can help you set this up in a child theme. It’ll require that you use Customizer Import/Export to move your settings from the parent to the child. I’ll send that a bit later.

    Once I’ve sent the child theme, here is how you’ll migrate your settings from the parent to the child theme: https://purothemes.com/customizer-settings-export-import/. If you’re already using a child theme then this wouldn’t apply.

    Hi Don

    I’m working on a header widget area. It’s quite complex in that it opens up a lot of possible variations. What combination of widgets did you want to use when you had this idea? Perhaps I can work the task using your use case as an example.

    Thanks

    Super 🙂 Glad to hear that did the trick. I’ll get an update out next week ASAP to change the h1 tag to a h2.

    No problem.
    I tried for ages to get an email plugin working with bbPress which is what we’re using here. In the end I gave up. A future challenge.

    Sorry, I thought you meant on the single post page. Please, remove the previous rule and add:

    .search-results .site-content .entry-meta {
        margin-bottom: 0;
    }

    No problem. Unfortunately, the forum doesn’t support email replies. Happy to work on email but it’s nice to finish support topics in one place, if we can. If you’d like to email next time, that’s 100%. The incorrect character is from copying the snippet from email, the greater than sign changes to HTML. If you grab it here on the forum, it should be good.

    Changing the h1 tag would involve you exporting your Customizer options. Installing a child theme and then importing your Customizer options. Those shouldn’t be h1 so if I fix in the update, you run the update. Sorted.

    Single Post Meta Spacing:

    .single .entry-meta .container > div {
        margin-bottom: 25px;
    }

    Hi 🙂

    Please, try:

    .search-results article {
        padding-bottom: 25px;
        margin-bottom: 25px;
    }

    .search-results p:only-child {
        margin-bottom: 0;
    }

    For the h1 issue, I’ll adjust that in an update next week, that’ll be the lowest code overhead solution, no child theme files required that way. What heading did you want to make those?
