    Hi Tomas

    Thanks for all the feedback.

    All WordPress themes completely overwrite their own folder during theme updates so if we release an update for Ultra and you run that update you’d lose all changes made to theme files. If you’re only making CSS changes then you don’t need to use a child theme and a plugin like Simple Custom CSS will be perfect.

    You’re using SiteOrigin CSS, that’s perfect, so no need to install anything else.

    The rule that’s empty can be found at Appearance > Custom CSS. You can remove it there.

    Thanks for the feedback. I’d love to fix whatever problems you’ve run into. Could you perhaps provide further details on the shop page challenges you mention above. I’m sure I can solve them once I know more.

    Hi Jason

    Thanks for reaching out 🙂

    Please, try the following child theme:

    https://purothemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/ultra-child-post-nav-in-same-term.zip

    To install:

    1. Download the ZIP file to your desktop.
    2. Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme > Activate.

    Activating a child theme in WordPress will cause menu location settings and Customizer settings to reset. Unfortunately, these will need to be reapplied if you want to make use of the child theme.

    Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

    Hi Simon

    Apologies, it’s a reported issue that I just can’t seem to get to the bottom of. I’ll have another look tomorrow and try resolve. I’ll move this to the Ultra forum in a moment.

    I seem to remember looking at a problem like this a little while ago and am sure I resolved it. I’ll take a look around and come back to you ASAP.

    Hi Tom

    Thanks for your support, it’s most appreciated.

    Try instead using the following:

    /* Header */

    @media (min-width: 1024px)
    .overlap .site-header:not(.fixed) {
    	background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.85);
    }

    This assumes you continue to use a black header. If you change the header colour just change the 0, 0, 0 value to your preferred colour rgb value. This will require that you have the slider overlap setting enabled.

    Let me know how it goes. Hopefully it makes a difference 🙂

    Sure. The only difference is font size. You can add:

    #sml_subscribe_widget .prepend {
    	font-size: 14px;
    }

    Hi Alex

    Thanks for reaching out.

    For the button, try:

    /* WooCommerce */

    .woocommerce ul.products li.product a.button:hover {
        border-bottom: 1px solid;
        border-color: #2d608d #2a5b85 #275379;
    }

    #sml_subscribe_widget .btn {
    	font-size: 1em;
        background: #3d82bf;
        background: -webkit-gradient(linear,left bottom,left top,color-stop(0,#316898),color-stop(1,#3d82bf));
        background: -ms-linear-gradient(bottom,#316898,#3d82bf);
        background: -moz-linear-gradient(center bottom,#316898 0%,#3d82bf 100%);
        background: -o-linear-gradient(#3d82bf,#316898);
        filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr='#3d82bf',endColorstr='#316898',GradientType=0);
        border: 1px solid;
        border-color: #2d608d #2a5b85 #275379;
        color: #fff !important;
        -webkit-border-radius: 0;
        -moz-border-radius: 0;
        border-radius: 0;
        -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0 1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,0.2), 0 1px 2px rgba(0,0,0,0.065);
        -moz-box-shadow: inset 0 1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,0.2), 0 1px 2px rgba(0,0,0,0.065);
        box-shadow: inset 0 1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,0.2), 0 1px 2px rgba(0,0,0,0.065);
        text-shadow: 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.05);
        text-transform: uppercase;
    }

    #sml_subscribe_widget .btn:hover {
        background: #2c71ae;
        background: -webkit-gradient(linear,left bottom,left top,color-stop(0,#2c71ae),color-stop(1,#2c71ae));
        background: -ms-linear-gradient(bottom,#2c71ae,#2c71ae);
        background: -moz-linear-gradient(center bottom,#2c71ae 0%,#2c71ae 100%);
        background: -o-linear-gradient(#2c71ae,#2c71ae);
    	border-bottom: 1px solid;
        border-color: #2d608d #2a5b85 #275379;
        -webkit-backface-visibility: hidden;
    }

    I’d need further details to change the text, what are you looking to achieve?

    On a side note, try the following in your Custom CSS plugin to help the spacing at the top of this page:

    /* Archives */

    .archive .site-content {
    	padding-top: 2.67857em;;
    }

    Also, add the following to your Custom CSS to fix a small issue with WooCommerce button hover borders:

    /* WooCommerce */

    .woocommerce ul.products li.product a.button:hover {
        border-bottom: 1px solid;
        border-color: #2d608d #2a5b85 #275379;
    }

    Hi Beverly

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Logo

    Start by going to Appearance > Theme Settings and disable the Tagline option as you aren’t using it. That’ll add an extra 20px vertical space for the logo to make use of.

    We can adjust the theme’s logo constraint, and I agree, this part of Ultra is a little clumsy. We can resolve with a few little steps:

    1. Download, install and activate Simple Custom CSS.
    2. Go to Appearance > Custom CSS and insert:

    /* Logo */

    .site-header .site-branding img {
    	max-height: 92px;
    }

    Adjust the 92px value as required to give the logo a higher max-height.

    3. Finally, to make the header larger, to allow for a larger logo you might need to go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Design > Header > Height and adjust that value.

    Phew, so how this aspect of Ultra landed up being like this is a long story. The steps above might seem complicated but won’t take long. If you get stuck at any point I’d be really happy to login and make these changes for you.

    Menu

    Go to Appearance > Theme Settings and change your Responsive Menu Collapse from the 0 value there now to 1060. That’ll change your menu from the desktop to mobile version, right at the point at which it starts to create a second line.

    Sure 🙂

    If you have a Custom CSS plugin installed, perhaps Simple Custom CSS, you can go to Appearance > Custom CSS and insert the following:

    /* Siteorigin Carousel Widget */

    .panel-grid-cell .sow-carousel-wrapper ul.sow-carousel-items li.sow-carousel-item .sow-carousel-thumbnail a span.overlay {
    background: #0896fe;
    }

    #0896fe is the default. Adjust that value as required.

    Hi jdulan82

    Thanks for the wait. The logo will link to the URL set at Settings > General > Site Address (URL). Can you perhaps, check the URL you’ve set in that field? Let me know how it goes 🙂
